Comprehension, i.e. making meaning of what we read, is one of the most important aspects of learning to be literate. However, the attention given to it within classrooms can often be inadequate and uninformed. Identifying this as a crucial need, ELI will be running its next theme on comprehension for a period of three months. We will be publishing a series of blogs and handouts on different aspects of reading comprehension. In this piece, Shuchi Sinha from the ELI team introduces the theme idea for us.
