One of ELI’s key objectives is to create a cadre of knowledgeable and well-prepared individuals working in the domain of early language and literacy. We take up this commitment at various levels. For example, one of the ELI research projects is devoted to working with pre-service teachers, an outcome of which is the creation of 10 modules related to various aspects of early language and literacy teaching. Through our short-term courses, workshops and summer schools, we will work with professionals working in NGOs, teacher educators, and so on.
A core part of this commitment involves working with university level students – at the Master’s, M.Phil and Ph.D. levels. Here, we describe the early language and literacy courses created for university students at TISS-Hyderabad and at Ambedkar University, Delhi.
